The Chain and Faux Pearl Earrings combine two of the most durable ideas in jewellery, a fine chain and a pearl, and let them do the work without any additional detail. Chain gives the earring movement, which is what stops a drop earring looking static, and the pearl-effect bead supplies a soft point of light at the end of it.

The pearls here are simulated rather than natural, which is what allows the price and, more usefully, makes them far more robust. Natural pearls are surprisingly delicate and dislike perfume, hairspray and moisture. A simulated bead survives everyday wear in a way a real one simply does not.
